CHENNAI: A day ahead of the deadline to file applications to contest in the local body elections, the CPI on Wednesday finalised poll pact with the main opposition, the DMDK.Announcing the decision here just before leaving for poll campaign in Vellore and T’Malai, DMDK chief Vijayakant said the nitty-gritties of the alliance would be worked out soon. “We have finalised pact. Seat sharing details will be decided by the functionaries of both the parties.”CPI State Secretary D Pandian said there was absolutely no issues with regard to seat sharing. “Everything is being worked out amicably,” he said. Meanwhile, the VCK president Thol Thirumavalavan announced here the decision to fight elections alongwith 13 Muslim organisations.CampaignAfter completing his campaign in Vellore and Tiruvannamalai, Vijayakant will tour districts including Perambalur and Ariyalur on Thursday. On Friday, he will seek votes in Mayiladuthurai, Tarangambadi, Tiruvarur and Mannargudi.
