BANGALORE: Commissioner of Rail Safety (CRS) D K Singh will prepare a report listing the shortcomings that Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has to fix and the recommendations that can be incorporated for Metro operations.BMRCL will then have to issue the compliance report, which implies that it has accepted all recommendations of the CRS.Once the compliance report is received, the CRS will issue the authorization sanctioning Reach 1.Speaking to The New Indian Express, Singh said that he has completed the inspection procedure and will now prepare the report.“The report will have my comments after the threeday inspection, along with a list of shortcomings followed by some recommendations”, he said.However, BMRCL MD N Sivasailam, said that the CRS will hold another round of inspection on September 9.On Thursday, Singh inspected the Byappanahalli station, viaduct and the pillars to check whether the structure has adequate load bearing capacity.Also, he reportedly, inspected the tracks and the signalling systems.“During the inspection, we have come across some shortcomings and have informed BMRCL about them.Now it is up to them to improve the conditions of the train operations,” Singh said.CRS can recommend that Namma Metro be opened for the public only after all the documents are processed.“We have asked for additional documents which BMRCL is yet to provide.Once those formalities are completed, we can prepare the report”, he said.The Railway Board finally declares Reach 1 open for public carriage.For the Railway Board to sanction the line, the chief Commissioner of Rail Safety (CCRS) has to provide the authorization.
