CUTTACK: The Millennium City is all set to unfold a panorama of Indian classical dance forms and traditional music drawing performers and exponents of the performing arts from the country and abroad from January 4.The six-day Cuttack Mahotsav: International Dance and Music festival 2012 will be hosted in the city with a galaxy of 100 eminent and internationally acclaimed classical dancers and musicians taking part in it.The festival would be held at Sahid Bhawan in all the days except January 8 when it would be presented at the Heritage Hall of the Ravenshaw University here.The festival will include eight styles of Indian Classical dance forms from Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi, Mohiniattam, Kathakali, Odissi, Kathak, Manipuri and Sattriya besides Mahari and contemporary dances.Along with the host of renowned classical dancers of the State and country, dancers from abroad like Irina Komissarova of Russia, Quiahui Fentes Anaya of Mexico, Yukie Satoh of Japan, Lisa Santhanam of USA and Chloe Romero of France would present Odissi. Ganna Smirnova of Ukraine will be presenting Bharatnatyam alongside Indian performers while Vrata Chigateri would be performing Kuchipudi in the festival.The music section would include classical music as Carnatic and Hindustani along with Odissi, Thumri-Dadra. Instrumental music by Parastoo Moradi and Group would be the highlights of the festival, organiser Kartik Chandra Rath of Utkal Yuva Sanskrutik Sangha said.
