BANGALORE : Weighed down by huge debts, a family of four, including three doctors, committed suicide by injecting themselves with a heavy dose of anaesthetic drug.The incident was reported at 4th Cross, 2nd Main, Valkiminagar, in Chamarajapet police station limits on Friday morning.The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Amanulla (61), his wife Naveeda Banu (50), their elder son Ehtesham Rasheed alias Nawaz (28) and younger son Afam Rasheed (26), who was a final year MBBS student at Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College, Kolar.The family that hailed from Kolar was running the Khuda Care Nursing Home on the ground and first floors and was residing on the second floor. They were also running Limra Nursing Home at Shamanna Garden for the past one year.  Ehtesham, who had done his MBBS at M S Ramaiah Medical College, was helping his father at the nursing homes.According to the police, nursing home staffer Rihana came as usual at around 6 am on Friday. As she did not find Amanulla there, she went upstairs. As the door was locked, she went to Amanulla’s  adopted daughter Nazia’s room. She found her room locked from outside. She peeped through a window of another room to find the family lying dead. Hearing her scream, Nazia woke up.“They locked Nazia’s room after she went to sleep on Thursday night and committed suicide,” police said. A relative of the deceased, Gaffar Khan, said though the family had taken loans of over Rs 1 crore for the children’s medical courses and to start a new nursing home, they were financially sound.
