Delay in acquiring Sreyams land irks High Court

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Monday expressed dissatisfaction over the delay on the part of the state government in acquiring the 14 acres of land in Krishnagiri, Wayanad, which is under the possession of M V Sreyamskumar MLA.A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice J Chelameswar and Justice P R Ramachandra Menon passed the order while considering an appeal filed by Sreyamskumar challenging the single bench order directing the state to take over the land. The court also declined to grant an interim order. “The state has not taken possession of the property in dispute. We do not wish to make any comment in this regard,” the court said.
