Delhi blasts suspects sent to 14-day police remand
Saif and Zeeshan were arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police on Friday.

New Delhi: A Tis Hazari court on Saturday sent the terror suspects - Mohammad Saif and Zeeshan - to 14-day police remand.

"Considering the abhorrent and fiendish acts that rattled Delhi last Saturday and investigating agency was also bereaved of an officer and to unearth the conspiracy, both the accused are remanded to 14-day police custody," Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kanwaljit Arora remarked while sending the duo to police custody.

Saif was arrested from Delhi's Jamia Nagar on Friday following an encounter between the Special Cell of Delhi Police and five suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorists, who were holed up inside House No L-18, Batla House in Jamia Nagar.

The Special Cell later arrested Zeeshan from the Jhandewalan area of Central Delhi.

Police sources said Saif has already admitted that his associate Atiq alias Bashir masterminded all the bomb blasts that rocked Delhi on September 13. Sources also claim that it was Saif who planted the bomb outside Regal Cinema in Central Delhi.

They also claim Zeeshan and Sajid — another terror suspect shot dead in Friday's encounter — planted bombs in Greater Kailash - I Market of New Delhi.

The police team had shot dead Sajid and Atiq. Atiq is said to be an associate of Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) activist Abdus Subhan Qureshi alias Tauqeer.

Out of the five terror suspects holed up inside the house, two managed to escape.

Investigations revealed 10 people were involved in Delhi blasts. With two arrested and two dead after Friday’s encounter, police are now on a lookout of the remaining six.
