A woman has now claimed that she was first harassed and then threatened by a bike rider in Delhi's Tilak Nagar area on Sunday. An FIR has been filed in the case.
The woman claimed that the man made obscene comments at her. She alleged that when she clicked his picture and threatened to lodge a police complaint, he dared her to go ahead and threatened her with dire consequences.
The woman said, "I was at the Tilak Nagar around 8:30 PM on Sunday and this person was crossing the signal and I was right in front of his vehicle and was about to get hurt. So I told him that 'Bhaiya red signal hai kyon nikaal rahe ho?' So, he started abusing me and then told me 'Come, I will drop you to Janakpuri' and that kind of creepy remarks he made at me. I wasn't ok with it and I took his picture and when I did he remarked 'lelo picture, complaint karke dikhao, phir dekhna main kya karta hoon'. So he threatened me."
Demanding a strict action against the man, she added, "My point is that if he had the audacity to say these things to me, he will have the audacity to do it too. The only action that I expect is that police should trace this person, and at least tell him that it is not ok and eve-teasing is as much a crime as any other heinous crime."
Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal lauded the girl's efforts by saying. "I would like to congratulate the girl for standing up and confronting the man."
