Devvarman loses to Cilic in Chennai Open finals
The 23-old Indian lost in straight sets 4-6, 6-7 to Marin Cilic on Sunday.

Chennai: Somdev Devvarman lost the finals of the Chennai Open to Marin Cilic in straight sets 4-6, 6-7 on Sunday evening.

Somdev dropped one of his service games to lose the first set 4-6. The huge-serving Cilic coming up with some timely winners to pick up the opening set in 52 minutes. And even though Somdev fought back in the second set, he lost it in the tiebreaker. The young Indian came back from being 2-5 down in the second set to be level at 5-5.

The 23-year old Somdev had a great run in this tournament, beating Kevin Kim in the first round, former world number number one Carlos Moya and Ivo Karlovic in the quarterfinals before getting a walkover from Rainer Schuettler in the semifinals.
