It would be extended to all other districts within four to five months.“The pilot project was rolled out in 16 states and the performance in Kerala was outstanding. Requests are pouring in from various other states and the role model of Kerala will be extended to other parts of the country”, he said.The other states in which the project is being implemented can make use of the experience in Kerala. An entrepreneur from Kerala was selected to make presentation before the Union IT Ministry considering the outstanding performance in implementing the project.An Akshaya entrepreneur Pradeep Kumar from Alakkode in Kannur district made presentation before the Union Minister of State for Communication and Information Technology Sachin Pilot and other officials.Pradeep Kumar said that the functioning of the centre and the services offered to the public and their satisfaction level was presented to the Ministry.Around 1 lakh certificates were distributed through the Akshaya centres in Kannur and Palakkad last month. The number of people making use of this facility is increasing after the success of the project.Kerala IT Department had issued orders to make available the provisions at all the Akshaya Centres to implement the e-district project with the financial assistance of the Union Government.All the certificates issued through the e-district software would be endorsed with a digital signature which would be valid for all purposes.The State IT Mission is the mentor of the project.
