Mumbai: 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai- 2', the sequel to the 2010 blockbuster Indian period gangster film 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai', will release on Eid next year.
The film stars Akshay Kumar in the lead along with actors Imran Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Sonali Bendre in prominent roles. The film is directed by Milan Luthria. "The film-going public can celebrate this festival next year with the unexpected combo of Akshay Kumar and Imran Khan who are terrific together, along with Sonakshi Sinha and Sonali Bendre, all of who are playing flamboyant Muslim characters.
"We've already recorded a brilliant Sufi qawwali and there's lots more...mainly.... Entertainment...Entertainment... and Entertainment!," Luthria said. The film has already gone on floors and a part of it has been shot in Muscat. The rest of the part will be shot in real locations of Mumbai.
"Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai-2 is our biggest project and among the most keenly awaited tent-poles of 2013. Everything about the film - its size, set-up, music, release and marketing are going to be larger than life. Eid is the best time to release this runaway mass entertainer!," said producer Ekta Kapoor.
So far we have had superstar Salman Khan cashing in on the Eid festivities by releasing his films like 'Bodyguard' and 'Ek Tha Tiger' around that time of the year. As being reported, Salman Khan's 'Sher Khan' will also hit the screens next year on Eid.
