MYSORE: Writing is a passion for 21 year-old Veer Santhosh, a final year engineering student at Maharaja Institute of Technology in Mysore. Hailing from a middle class family, Santhosh penned his first book ‘Ready to Fall In Love...?’, which was released here on Sunday. This book is a collection of five love stories, two with happy ending and three with tragic ends.During the book release function, friends, teachers and parents were in the audience. The entire ceremony lasted for about 15 minutes and no VIPs were invited. His favourite physics teacher A G Nanjappa Swamy of Marimallappa High School released the book in a classroom of D Banumaiah’s College where Veerabhadraiah, father of Santhosh, works. Santhosh has printed 1,000 copies without approaching any publisher and his mother Shashikala is proud of her sons achievement. They are residents of Metgalli.Apart from reading and writing, Santhosh has a keen interest in film making. He has directed a short film titled ‘Whats your dream...?’ and he is crazy about movies and music. During his free time, he writes short stories in Kannada and posts them in his blog: kickofengg.blogspot.in. After reading his writings, Shilpa Pai, Ashok Kumar and Sowmya encouraged Santhosh with feedback. His friend Sourabha Rao said, “this book has the kind of stories that would keep you gripped till the end, with pretty much all the emotions that whirl around love. They will make you cry, they will make you smile. They will bring laughter, they will stir your soul. Santhosh in his writings has stressed the importance of hope in life,  hope that makes you want to push the limits, hope to move on in life and to find that ludicrous, irrepressible, unconditional love that is still out there,” she said.
