‘Reel Earth: Environmental Film Festival of Cusat 2012’ organised by Department of Youth Welfare, Cochin University of Science and Technology brings to light the various green issues plaguing the world today.   ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ directed by Davis Guggenheim, a multi-media presentation by Al Gore, a long-time environmental activist and former US vice-president that portrayed the scientific facts behind global warming was screened at the the School of Management Studies auditorium on Wednesday.

‘BBC: The Mountains of Monsoon’ by Tim Martin will be screened on Thursday and Deep Sea by Howard Hall will be screened on Friday. The film is narrated by Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet.

‘Tropical Rainforests’ directed by Ben Shedd was screened on the inaugural day. Cusat Registrar A Ramachandran inaugurated the festival at School of Marine Sciences auditorium, Lakeside campus on Foreshore Road on Monday.
