Erode schools fee trumps citys highest

CHENNAI: If you’re balking at the thought of shelling out `24,000 for your child’s LKG course, you will be interested to note that Sunshine Montessori’s fees for LKG and UKG isn’t the highest in the State. Going through the revised fee structure data available (for schools who appealed) on the TN government website for 10 key districts, Express found that the most expensive might be Maharaja International School in Perundurai near Erode. The panel has allowed the school to charge a whopping `32,950 for its LKG and UKG classes. Run by the Maharaja Group that runs engineering colleges, the school’s brochure says it sprawls across 25 acres and offers fully airconditioned classrooms and library. It also offers a residential option for students, but it also claims to run an airconditioned school bus from Erode to Perundurai.Yuvabharathi Public School, Coimbatore is another pricey option for your little one, as it has been allowed to charge `21,250 for kindergarten classes. Other expensive options are in Chennai:`20,150 at AMM Matriculation HSS in Kotturpuram and `20,000 at the well-known Harrington House Nursery & Primary School in Egmore. Kids Central Nursery & Primary School, also in Kotturpuram, has been allowed to charge `19,450.Beating out most of Chennai schools is Erode’s Bharathi Vidya Bhavan Matriculation that can charge `18,150 for the KG classes. Tiruchy’s most expensive option is the Aurobindo International School in Woraiyur (`16,500) while Madurai’s is Jayland Nursery and Primary School (`15,350). Among the hill stations, Ooty’s Woodside School leads the list charging `16,900, followed by Kodaikanal’s St Peter’s Matriculation HSS at `11,300 and Golden Gates Matriculation HSS in Yercaud which can charge `11,100.
