BANGALORE: The High Court on Monday ordered emergent notice to CBI in connection with a petition filed against the alleged inaction of the State government and the police authorities in bringing culprits to book in farmer and activist Siddalinga Prabhu murder case and seeking a CBI probe into the case.During the hearing, counsel for the petitioner stated, “Siddalinga Prabhu, in his compliant dated July 9, 2011, had said that he was attacked by NICE MD Ashok Kheny’s assistants and they had tried to murder him. But the police have not taken his (Kheny’s) and eyewitnesses statements while filing the B report. Later, Siddalinga Prabhu was brutally murdered and his body was found in a ditch near Green Valley School on Kanakapura Main Road in the outskirts of the city on October 17, 2011.”The victim’s uncle Basappa, a resident of Sompura village has filed the petition seeking a CBI probe into the case and directions to police authorities. In the petition, he has alleged that, despite a complaint being registered by the family members suspecting the role of NICE MD Ashok Kheny in the murder, the police, so far, have not taken any action. The Police Department which has filed the status report of Siddalinga Prabhu murder case on December 14, 2011, had said that it has not been confirmed that Siddalinga Prabhu was murdered at the behest of NICE chief and his assistants.
