'Filmistaan' tweet review: A hit at film festivals, it isn't one of the best Bollywood projects of all time

New Delhi: From being screened at national and international film festivals to winning the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi, Amitabh Bachhan taking to Twitter to praise the film and Vidhu Vinod Chopra sponsoring a vacation for the team, Nitin Kakkar's 'Fimistaan' has quite evidently earned huge appreciation. Released in 2012, the film hits the screens today, two years after its official release. And going by the response it has begun to get, it has succeeded in leaving the right impact on the viewers.

The film revolves around Sunny, who works as an assistant director, and aspires to become an actor. It is realize this dream that he accompanies an American crew to remote areas in Rajasthan to assist them on a documentary. He is kidnapped by an Islamic terrorist group kidnaps for being the member of the American crew, and what follows next is a not so easy life for him and an understanding of India-Pakistan relationships. Debutant director Nitin Kakkar's film stars Sharib Hashmi, Inaamulhaq, Kumud Mishra and Gopal Dutt.
