A class 10 boy from Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi was allegedly stripped, beaten, and threatened to murder after he asked one of the students to return Rs 200 he had borrowed, said police.
The victim informed cops that the suspects forced him to drink liquor, hit him with belts and sticks, and recorded the video, reported NDTV. One of the videos shows that the accused verbally abused the 16-year-old boy and asked him to strip.
The boy continued to plead with the group after which they slapped him across the face and filmed the assault.
The family of the class 10 boy has filed a complaint against the group, which consisted of six boys, police said adding that the viral video had shamed them. The suspects also threatened the boy to murder him if he went to the cops.
Preliminary investigation reveal that the victim lent Rs 200 to a friend. When he did not return the amount, the victim asked for it, leading to a quarrel about two months back.
On the day of the incident, the boy was chatting with a friend in a park, when four classmates arrived in a car and called him. As soon as the boy approached them, they pulled him inside the car and said they were going to the nearby forest area to watch the Army’s target practice.
On reaching the deserted location, the victim found two more boys in inebriated condition waiting for them, said police. The group of boys forced him to drink liquor and started to film the assault.
The boy informed police that he kept pleading for pardon, but they continued to thrash and record the harassment. Somehow, the boy managed to flee the spot, said police adding that he is now feeling ashamed to even step out of his home after the group circulated the video online.
