SRIVILLIPUTHUR: Four persons were killed and three injured when a car collided head-on with a lorry near here in the wee hours of Friday. Police said that S Sivaganesh (9), G Nithya (17) and R Karuppasamy (76), who were travelling in the car, were killed on the spot, while the car driver V Kalidass (27) succumbed to injuries on the way to GRH, Madurai.A group of villagers from Andipatti in Theni district were travelling by two vans and a car to visit a temple near Rajapalayam. While their vehicles were proceeding on the national highway between Madurai and Srivilliputhur, the car driver Kalidass lost control near Krishnankovil and hit a lorry that was coming from the opposite direction. Muthammal (60), Karuppayi (35) and Lakshmi (30) sustained injuries and were admitted to the Srivilliputhur GH.
