Paris: A French police officer has succumbed to her injuries on Thursday afternoon after being shot by a gunman in southern Paris.
This comes right after the Thursday shooting after terrorists stormed into the Charlie Hebdo office and shot twelve people dead.
The gunman who attacked on the policemen on Thursday fled by the metro after the incident. A suspect has since been detained in connection with the shootout and is being questioned. The incident took place near Porte de Chatillon, south of Paris.
France's top security officials left an emergency government meeting to travel to the scene of Thursday's shooting, which comes amid high tensions.
French Interior minister confirmed that there were links between Wednesday's incident and shooting at South Paris on Thursday.
Meanwhile seven people have been detained and are being questioned in connection with Wednesday's incident.
