KOCHI: The Kerala High Court has directed the Union Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs to consider and dispose of a representation demanding to prevent the distribution of video records of the film 'Gaddama' in the Gulf countries. The court passed the order on a petition filed by Abdutty Kaithamukku, former arts secretary of the Abu Dhabi Malayali Samajam, praying to the court to give a directive to the Union Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs to prevent incidents that may affect the lives of Malayalis in the Gulf countries once the film is screened in the region. The petitioner submitted that the film depicted Arabs treating their Malayali employees with intense cruelty."The scenes in the film do not reflect the reality. The ultimate fallout in screening the film will be disturbing the cordial relation with Arab countries," the petitioner said.
