BHUBANESWAR: The Bhubaneswar-based inventor of Glabenator, a device that helps paralysis victims communicate, Apurv Mishra was declared as the ‘Future Global Leader’ at the recently concluded St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). The forum is the annual economic summit of Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) - the Russian Davos - organised by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. Apurv, who was here on Saturday, said the Forum is the flagship event where global leaders in the field of business, entrepreneurship, management, politics, government and sports engage in both public discussion and development of Russia’s key modernisation projects. “It is a great platform to swap ideas related to innovation and modernisation with global leaders,” he added. The SPIEF was founded last year. The 22-year-old inventor is the founder and CEO of Futurely, a platform that maps the state of innovation across the world.He further said that as a part of the Forum, he will be participating in the ‘Entrepreneurial Culture of Innovation’ work group at St Petersburg to make recommendations for modernisation projects for the country starting from Tuesday next till June 16.
