Global meet discusses computing advances

Globalisation pervades almost every facet of human life, thanks to the emergence of new digital technologies in computing and communications.  At the same time, informatics plays a very crucial role.

An international conference on Advances in Computing ‘12 (ICACCI) organised between August 3 and 5 by RMK Engineering College along with Research Publishing Services, Singapore, provided an ideal international forum for the exchange of ideas among interested researchers, students, developers, and practitioners in these areas.

ICACCI was organised in association with organisations and universities like the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM), Offenburg University of Applies Sciences, Germany, Computer Society of India (CSI), the International Society for Computers and their Applications, Inc. (ISCA), USA, International Neural Network Society (INNS) - India Chapter, Indian Association for Medical Informatics (IAMI) and Software Process Improvement Network (SPIN).

The conference was inaugurated by Justice A Kulasekaran, chairman, Railway Rates Tribunal of India. Prof Axel Sikora, University of Applied Sciences, Offenburg, Germany, delivered a special address on the occasion. R S Munirathinam, founder–chairman, RMK Group of Institutions, delivered the presidential speech.  RM Kishore, vice-chairman and Yalamanchi Pradeep, secretary, were also present. ICACCI received research papers from over 36 countries and 203 papers were chosen to be presented at the conference.

The International Symposium on Intelligent Informatics (ISI’12) brought together researchers to discuss the theory and applications of Intelligent Informatics. The Student Research Symposium (SRS’12) provided an opportunity to interact with leading personalities from academia, industry and research agencies at the venue of ICACCI.
