Some passengers of a Bihar-bound train have alleged that three GRP personnel looted them, police said on Friday.
Around a dozen passengers of a general coach of the Jogbani Express, which started from Anand Vihar railway station in Delhi yesterday, alleged that three GRP jawans boarded the train at Aligarh station, said SSP Surendra Tiwari of Kanpur Central station GRP.
The passengers claimed that the jawans threatened them and looted their cash, watches and other valuables, he said.
When the train stooped here in the evening, the passengers verbally reported the alleged incident, he added.
However, when the two jawans of Agra GRP, who were on duty on the train, were questioned, they said the passengers had scattered their luggage in the compartment and they were only trying to clear the passage which led to an argument between the two parties, he said.
No FIR had been lodged against the jawans as the police had not received a written complaint from any passenger, said Tiwari, adding that the complaint was being forwarded to Agra GRP for investigation.
If found guilty, the jawans will be punished, he added.
