New Delhi: A metropolitan court in Ahmedabad will pass an order on April 10 on whether the Special Investigation Team (SIT) report in the Zakia Jafferi complaint should be handed over to her or not. Zakia Jaffery, widow of former MP Ehsan Jaffery, had filed an application in a local court seeking a copy of final report of SIT on her complaint against Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and others on 2002 post-Godhra riots.
SIT advocate RS Jamuvar said that the question of whether or not to hand over SIT report will arise only after magistrate made up his mind to either accept the report, reject the report or direct further information.
Jamuvar also told the court that the report of amicus curie Raju Ramchandran is not binding on the SIT and his report can only be used as a guideline during investigation. "I have submitted that Raju Ramchandran's report can just be a guideline for investigation. It is not binding on the SIT," he said.
In her plea, Zakia had demanded that the Supreme Court-appointed agency's report be declared a public document and a copy of it be provided to her immediately.
