Six bodyguards Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh have been charged with sedition, while an AK-47 has been recovered along with other weapons. Army and paramilitary forces, meanwhile, are near the Dera Sacha Sauda’s headquarters in Sirsa and are awaiting nod to enter.
Addressing media, Haryana DGP BS Sandhu on Saturday said the death toll in violence in Panchkula and Sirsa has risen to 36.
Earlier in the day, Haryana Deputy Advocate General was sacked from his position after a video showing him assist Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim in carrying his bag surfaced. Speaking to CNN-News18, Haryana A-G Baldev Mahajan confirmed that the deputy A-G has been sacked and said he had recommended the termination on seeing the video.
