NAYARAMBALAM(NJARRACKAL): The family of P G Haridath, Additional Superintendent of Police, CBI, who committed suicide on Thursday, had to withstand the loss of another member in the family the very next day. His mother Nirupama, who was suffering from liver cancer, breathed her last on Friday Morning. The two cremations were held at the compound of his house in Nayarambalam, near Kochi, on Friday evening. Earlier, the body of Haridath was first taken to the Alappuzha Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Forensic experts also examined the room where Haridath, who was investigating the controversial Sampath murder case, was found hanging on Thursday. He is survived by wife Nisha, son Nandagopal and brother Venu. Haridath was living with his family at the CBI quarters in Thiruvananthapuram. They came to their home in Nairambalam two weeks ago. It is suspected that he committed suicide owing to depression and work pressure. He joined the CBI in 1984 and was promoted as an ASP last year.
