MADURAI: The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has adjourned hearing on Sasikala’s husband M Natarajan’s bail plea in a land grab case to Tuesday.Originally, the Thanjavur police had arrested Natarajan for allegedly usurping 15,000 square feet of land belonging to one Ramalingam to erect a monument for Sri Lankan Tamils who died at Mullivaikal during the 2009 war. The monument was to be constructed by the World Tamil Federation, a trust for which Natarajan is the founder-trustee.Natarajan, along with his brother Saminathan, allegedly assaulted Ramalingam, besides causing minor injuries to his son Sivakumar. While Saminathan has filed an anticipatory bail application in the case, Natarajan filed a bail application. On Monday, Natarajan’s counsels told the court that Natarajan was not interested in the land anymore and that they would remove all the construction material from the land. Following this, Justice T Sudanthiram directed Natarajan to file an affidavit in the court that he would vacate the land and posted the matter for Tuesday.
