BANGALORE: Traffic in social networking’s sites soared high on the New Year Eve. It was reported that twitter servers crashed as it  received 16000 tweets in a second. Bad roads, water shortage, garbage dump etc are the news media displayed all throughout the year 2011. Despite everything  Bangaloreans believe that 2012 is year when things may turn around for the good.  A better city, efficient civic amenities and a self sufficient State are few ideas  seen on the social networking sites like Facebook and twitter. The messages displayed a positive attitude, a better tomorrow, while they were celebrating 2012.When City Express contacted the PRO of BBMP, Khundre on the reactions and opinions of the poeple on New year on the issues in the city on these social sites, he said, “We have received many complaints on civic issues in these sites, and we have taken action on most of them. However there are few complaints, which have been delayed due to financial approval, we will work on it as soon as the funds are sanctioned.” He added further, “We encourage people to use these means of communication to bring the city to great heights and beautify Bangalore.” He concluded saying, “Even though we requested political parties to cooperate with us, they stick their party posters and symbols all over the city, which disturbs the beauty of Bangalore.”
