THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Assembly on Thursday condemned the terror attacks in  Mumbai on Wednesday which killed 17 people and injured over 140 people.Speaker G Karthikeyan said what happened in Mumbai should never happen again. The House paid homage to those who killed in the bomb blasts and observed a two-minute silence.Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said that there should be every effort to stand united in the fight against such dastardly acts. ‘’Mumbai is one place where lakhs of Keralites live and hence, we are all the more concerned. The government has made every effort to get the information whether any Malayalis were injured in the attack,’’ he said. Opposition Leader V S  Achuthanandan also condemned the attack and said that stringent measures should be taken to check terrorism in the country. However, he took a dig at the State Government saying that the UDF was trying to shield such persons who had links with such outfits.‘’A probe is being conducted by the National Investigating Agency against Tomin J Thachankary based on such allegations, and now, the UDF Government decided to revoke the suspension and bring him back to service, which is not justifiable,’’ the Opposition Leader said.
