KOCHI: The Principal Sessions Court Ernakulam on Tuesday found the accused in the murder of a 39-year-old housewife in Kochi guilty.The sentence will be pronounced on Thursday. The accused Rasheed, Puthiyedath Veettil, Meenangadi, Wayanad, was found guilty of murder, trespassing and destroying evidence.The prosecution case is that on November 16, 2010, Bindu, 39, wife of K P Ramakrishnan, Kalazhath Lane, behind Pachalam market, was found murdered in one of the rooms on the top floor of her three-storey house. The top floor was being rented out by the family. The police recovered a gold chain and two bangles that went missing from the body of the deceased. The accused had visited the house in the morning under the pretext of renting a room there and he returned in the evening with a knife to commit the crime. When the woman took him to the third floor to show the rooms, the accused attacked her. The deceased was found lying in a pool of blood under the cot in one of the rooms with six cut marks on her head. In all, 42 witnesses were examined before Sessions Judge B Kemalpasha.
