New Delhi: Chinese electronics brand Huawei has showcased a number of new smartphone models at IFA 2014 in Berlin.

The Huawei Ascend G7 is the latest addition to Huawei's Ascend G devices. The Ascend G7 has a 5.5-inch 1280x720 HD screen along with a 13 megapixel rear camera. The 5-megapixel front-facing camera has an 88-degree wide-angle lens. The phone measures 7.6mm in thickness and weighs 165g. The Ascend G7 runs on Qualcomm's quad-core 1.2 GHz processor and a 3000 mAh Li-Polymer battery.

The G7 is priced at 299 euros (approximately Rs 23400) in Europe.

In what appears to be a direct contender to Samsung's just-announced Galaxy Note 4, Huwaei has also launched the 6-inch Ascend Mate7 with an FHD display and an octa-core processor. The processor in the Mate7 is the Huawei Kirin 925 processor made up of four large A15 1.8 GHz and four small A7 1.3 GHz chipsets. The phone draws juice from a powerful 4100 mAh battery.

The phone also includes a fingerprint sensor on the rear of the device. The phone is 7.9mm slim and weighs 185g.

Huawei Ascend Mate7 (2GB RAM and 16GB ROM) will be available in Europe for 499 euros (approximately Rs 39000), while the premium Huawei Ascend Mate7 (3GB RAM and 32GB ROM) is priced at 599 euros (approximately Rs 7,000).

Huawei also said it would release a limited edition of its high-end Ascend P7 phone with a sapphire glass display - the costly but durable material that's been the subject of industry chatter following reports this year that Apple would begin mass producing devices with sapphire.
