Rahul Bose speaks about his toughest stunt and his close pals on the show

Film actor and a contestant on Khatron Ke Khiladi 3, Rahul Bose shares his experience on the show and admits that the money will be used for his charity foundation.

What made you sign up for Khatron Ke Khiladi?

Three reasons why I took this show. 1- The stunts (not the insect stunts) promised to give me ten days of adventure sports. 2- An incentive to earn a fair amount of money for my foundation and last but not the least, to have the opportunity to visit Rio De Janerio and experience the Brazilian way of life.

What kind of a fitness regime did you go through before leaving for Brazil?

Nothing special, I did what I usually do on a regular basis which includes– squash, tennis, badminton, swimming, yoga, plyometrics and cardio. I just continued with all of that as a preparation.

Did you follow the earlier seasons of Khatron Ke Khiladi or the Fear Factor on AXN?

No, not Khatron Ke Khiladi but had watched half an episode of Fear Factor prior to the show.

Among all the stunts which one did you find the toughest mentally and physically?

The toughest stunt physically was the underwater stunt on day one. We were tired, cold and had been on our feet for over 19 hours. Mentally, it was the rat stunt. That was a challenge that I had to win in my mind.

With which contestant did you bond the most?

I got along with everyone and I am not being diplomatic. But I got along most with Cyrus Broacha who has been a friend for about 15 years. And some good times with Shabbir, Gattu (Abhishek Kapoor), Ritwick and Angad too,

Did you find time to explore Brazil or was the shooting schedule too hectic for a break?

I squeezed as much as I could from the couple of free days we got. One day, I took the opportunity to visit an NGO, Rocinha Legal as I am an Oxfam global ambassador. It was an electrifying experience. The energy and the subterranean sense of threat due to the drug dealers and trade there was palpable. On another day I went and ate traditional Brazilian food in a beautiful restaurant, Aprazivel, and then went on an architectural tour of the city.

What is your greatest fear? Has the show helped you overcome it?

Nothing really and I never discovered it either. I was never really scared throughout the show. I was watchful and also uncertain but never scared! After playing rugby for India for ten years against guys double your size takes any fear out of you!

Are you open to being part of more reality shows?

Depends on what the show is about. It is a complete no to shows celebrating the destruction of people’s personalities, no show with any kind of negativism, no show that celebrates people’s foibles.

How was your trip to New York for the screening of I Am?

It was very good for the film and especially good for me. Vishal Bharadwaj, Abhishek Chaubey and Vinay Shukla had wonderful things to say about my work. When directors think well of your performance, its special. The festival was good, but I was there for only one day. It took me 44 hours flying there and back, but I barely got to spend any time in the city,

Your upcoming films?

There is I Am and Kucch Luv Jaisa that releases early next year. I will start shooting for three films – Midnight’s Chidren in English, Africa in Bengali and a part drama-part love story in Hindi from January onwards.
