The troubles for trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar have escalated as Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) took decisive action against alleged encroachments outside her family’s bungalow in Baner, Pune. In a significant move, a bulldozer was deployed to clear encroachments on the footpath adjacent to her residence. Adding to the controversy, questions have surfaced regarding Puja Khedkar’s disability certificate. Allegations suggest discrepancies in the address provided for the disability certificate, which reportedly pointed to a factory instead of a residence. Furthermore, concerns were raised over the documentation submitted for the certificate, with Aadhaar card requirements allegedly replaced by a ration card. The income declared for the disability benefits also raised eyebrows, reportedly at Rs 5 lakh annually.

Moreover, investigations revealed that Puja Khedkar’s disability was certified at 7 percent, significantly below the 40 percent threshold required for government benefits. Following these revelations, the State Disability Commissioner has urged the District Collector and Pune Police Commissioner to launch a thorough investigation into the authenticity of the disability claims, emphasising the potential for legal action if found fraudulent.

Allegations also surfaced against trainee IAS Puja Khedkar, accusing her of demanding VIP privileges from Pune Collector Suhas Diwase immediately upon joining. It is reported that Khedkar requested a car, bungalow, and staff from Diwase, prompting him to file a complaint with the General Administration Department (GAD). According to sources, Diwase’s complaint on June 24 detailed undue pressure allegedly exerted by Khedkar’s father, Dilip Khedkar, concerning accommodations at the Collector’s Office. Despite being a probationary officer, Khedkar purportedly insisted on special facilities.

Additionally, controversy surrounds Khedkar’s use of a personal Audi car adorned with a number plate featuring red and blue lights and the inscription “Maharashtra Government.” Appointed as Assistant Collector at the Pune Collector’s Office on June 3, 2024, Khedkar’s father reportedly instructed office officials to prepare accommodations ahead of her arrival, sparking further controversy.

The unfolding situation has led to escalating revelations about Khedkar, including recent claims that she may have applied for the UPSC exam using forged documents.
