All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday, in a veiled reference to the Congress, said the “old party” has to take everyone along to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Speaking in reference with the BJP’s win in Haryana election, Owaisi also said the BJP won in the state “by mistake”. Meanwhile, the BJP said the Congress party “stands nowhere”.
Owaisi said that ‘secular’ parties used to blame him for causing a split in anti-BJP votes in elections, but how did Congress lose in Haryana though the AIMIM did not field candidates?
“How did they (BJP) win (Haryana)? I was not there. Otherwise, they would have said ‘B Team’… They lost there. Now, you tell me, they lost because of whom?,” Owaisi said, addressing a public meeting in Vikarabad in Telangana on Friday night.
Advising the Congress, Owaisi said, “I would like to tell the old party. Understand what I am saying. You have to take everyone along to defeat Modi. You will not be able to do anything alone.”

CONGRESS IS A PARASITE PARTY: BJP
Reacting to Asaduddin Owaisi’s statement on Haryana election results, BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said the Congress party has become a parasite party, it now stands nowhere.
“Be it the Trinamool Congress, Samajwadi Party, Uddhav Sena or Owaisi, ever since the results of the Haryana elections came, they are all telling Congress that “Rahul, tumse naa ho paayega.” I think the Congress party has become a parasite party,” BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said today while talking to reporters.
“The Congress stands nowhere, it becomes ‘Betal‘ and makes its allies ‘Vikram’ and then sucks out their vote bank. So, everyone is telling them to not destroy their vote bank and contest together,” he said.
