However, in a bizarre case, police have put up for auction two chickens at the police station itself. What’s peculiar is that dozens of people participated in this auction. In the village of Penchikalpet, located in the Kamanpur mandal of the Peddapalli district of Telangana, the Kamanpur police conducted a sudden raid on a group conducting illegal cockfights. The police arrested the individuals involved in the cockfights and seized two roosters. During this operation, the police took possession of the two roosters used in the cockfight. The accused were then presented in court, and subsequently, they were remanded to the Manthani court.
As the court proceedings were adjourned for a week, the Kamanpur police set up a special coop at the police station, providing the roosters with food, water, and special care as per the court’s orders. Following the court’s verdict after a week, the Kamanpur police auctioned the roosters as per the court’s directive.
A day before the auction, an announcement was made, and around 50 people participated in the auction to bid for the roosters. In this auction, Bonala Satyanarayana from Bapuji Nagar in the Kamanpur police station area won a rooster weighing 2.4 kg for Rs 2,500. Another rooster, weighing 2.98 kg, was won by Purana Sarayya from Kamanpur for Rs 4,000.
Bonala Satyanarayana, who won a rooster in the auction, expressed his joy, stating that he was delighted to acquire the rooster. He mentioned to the local media that he purchased the rooster to breed it on his chicken farm.
