India ready to talk with Pak: PM
The PM says he is ready to discuss all issues pertaining to relations between the two countries, including Kashmir.

Helsinki: In his first public reaction to Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's recent book, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has said he is ready to discuss all issues pertaining to relations between the two countries, including Kashmir.

In an interview given to a Finnish magazine, Kuvalehti, Dr Singh said he was satisfied with the meeting with General Musharraf in Havana.

During the meeting, it was agreed to adopt common procedures to uproot terrorism, he said and expressed the hope that Pakistan would seriously work with India on the issue.

The current dialogue is based on General Musharraf's commitment made in January 2004 that Pakistan will not allow any kind of terrorist activities in its territory, Dr Singh added.

Gen Musharraf, in his book, has proposed Kashmir issue could be solved by creating special autonomy on both sides of the border.

To this, the Prime Minister said he had said on many occasions that we cannot not discuss moving borders.

''We have to work to create a situation in which it is irrevelant on which side of the border the inhabitants of the area live, because goods as well as people can move freely. That is the job of the two governments and it is the only alternative,'' he added.
