Indian duo in men's 1500m finals

Guangzhou: The Indian duo of Hamza Chatholi and Sandeep Karan Singh qualified for the men's 1500m finals of the Asian Games after finishing fourth in their respective heats here on Monday.

The 29-year-old Chatholi clocked 3:46.68 to be sixth overall. First four in each heat and the next four fastest advanced to the final which is scheduled to be held on Tuesday.

Chatholi's personal best stands at 3:39.90, but his best effort this season has been 3:43.39.

Sandeep also finished fourth in his heat but ended up eighth overall with a qualifying time of 3:53.88.

The 24-year-old clocked his personal best of 3:43.39 this season only.
