New Delhi: A Mumbai Police informer, Narsiya Mama, was on Thursday killed on Shahapur Road in Thane rural area. Police say they suspect members of the Chhota Rajan gang are behind the killing.
Crime branch sleuths had on Thursday morning arrested three suspected Chhota Rajan gang members - Amar Singh, Akash Sidhu and Amrish Sidhu - on extortion charges.
Last week, Chhota Rajan has declared an “open war” against police informers to regain his foothold in Mumbai. The war cry came in light of the setback in operations and the continued incarceration of his wife, Sujata Nikalje, and close aides Vicky Malhotra and DK Rao.
Sujata ailas Nani was arrested by Mumbai police in December last year in an extortion case under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
