Isari Ganesh arrested in fresh case

CHENNAI: The police on arrested Vel’s University vice-chancellor Isari K Ganesh on charges of criminal intimidation in a fresh case. He was issued the warrant in the Puzhal prison.A case was filed against him under Sections 294 (b) (abusing in filthy language) and 506 (II) (criminal intimidation) of IPC by the Kilpauk police on the basis of a complaint lodged by former Pachiyappa Trust member R Prabakaran (50) of Egmore.Prabakaran said he was threatened with dire consequences by Ganesh in 2010, when he intended to contest for the polls to the Pachaiyappa’s Trust board. On November 1, Ganesh, ex-chairman of the Trust, was held on charges of attempt to murder and assault for attacking a Trust member Sivasubaramanian.
