French film L'Enfant(The Child)?the winner of the Palm d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival this year?will be the closing film

New Delhi: Sunday will mark the end of the 36th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa with Indian cinema's acting giants Mammotty and Mithun Chakraborty as the chief guests for the concluding function to be held here.

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunshi will share the dais with Goa Chief Minister Pratapsingh Rane for the function.

The ten-day long festival was inaugurated on Nov 24.

French film L'Enfant(The Child)?the winner of the Palm d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival this year?will be the closing film, a Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF) release said.

The closing ceremony will be followed by the screening of L'Enfant, which will be repeated simultaneously on the four screens at Inox multiplex, official venue for the festival.

Special awards would be present for the films which includes Golden Peacock for the Best Film will be announced by the international jury headed by Chilean film-makers Miguel Littin at the ceremony while silver peacock award would be given to the most promising director.

A special jury award would be given to the director of a film for his individual artistic contribution.
