YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy was shifted back to Chanchalguda Central Jail on Wednesday night after a hospital discharged him in Hyderabad.
Police escorted Jagan, as the MP from Kadapa is popularly known, back to jail from the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), where he was admitted on August 30.
Doctors at NIMS had forcibly administered intravenous fluids to Jagan Aug 31 after he refused to end his fast against the Congress party's decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh.
Jagan, in judicial custody for more than a year in a disproportionate assets case, went on indefinite hunger strike in the jail Aug 25.
He was admitted to Osmania General Hospital Aug 29 when his condition started deteriorating. He was later shifted to NIMS.
