HYDERABAD: Police nabbed five persons in connection with stealing a safety locker from PSR Jewellers Pvt Ltd at Domalguda and are also set to register a case against the complainant, the store owner, for exaggerating the value of the stolen property in a bid to claim insurance. Cops seized all the stolen property worth Rs 7.5 lakh.According to police, the jewellery-manufacturing unit MD, R Sudheer, lodged a complaint with the police stating gold and diamond ornaments worth Rs 2.7 crore were there in the bio-metric locker which was stolen on May 7. He even submitted some fake purchase bills to the police. However, it was found that the price of the stolen ornaments is only Rs 7.5 lakh."Sudheer submitted invoices stating that he purchased gold from four dealers -- Ashish Bullion, Balaki Bullion, Manokamna and Vijay Jewellers. But it was found that all the four firms are fake," DCP Tarun Joshi said."It was also found that PSR Jewellers was insured with New India Insurance for Rs 20 crore in total and Rs 3 crore against burglary.” Those held included Jethavath Santosh Naik (20), an auto driver and resident of Domalguda, Mudavatha Lohit Das and Vitlavath Vikram, both residents of Basheerbagh, Mudavath Ramda and Ambothu Shiva, both residents of Domalguda.The booty included Rs 1,662 cash, two pairs of diamond ear studs, two diamond finger rings, 9 stones of different colours.
