Kashmiri separatist leaders put under house arrest ahead of their meeting with Pakistan NSA
Both the factions of Huriyat Conference headed by Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and other separatist leaders such as Yasin Malik and Naeem Khan have been invited by the Pakistan High Commissioner.

Srinagar: Ahead of the meeting of the National Security Advisors of India and Pakistan, Jammu and Kashmir separatist leaders have been put under house arrest.

Hurriyat Conference has said that its leaders Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Abbas Ansari among the leaders who have been placed under house arrest.

Separatist leaders in J&K had confirmed that Pakistan Pakistan High Commissioner in New Delhi Abdul Basit has invited them for talks with Pakistan National Advisor Sartaj Aziz before he holds talks with his Indian counterpart.

Both the factions of Huriyat Conference headed by Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and other separatist leaders such as Yasin Malik and Naeem Khan have been invited by Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit for talks on August 23.

Aziz is scheduled to fly here for talks with India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on August 23.

In September 2014, ahead of the Foreign Secretary Level talks between India and Pakistan, India had called it off as Pakistan had invited separatist leaders for talks.
