Ahmedabad: An investigation into the Gujarat fake encounter case by CNN-IBN has found that the wife of fake encounter victim Sohrabuddin Sheikh, Kausar Bi, was not raped before she was killed.
Reports in a section of media had claimed said that Kausar Bi was raped by a police constable and then killed.
The Gujarat government had on Monday told the Supreme Court that Kausar Bi was murdered and her body was burnt after her husband was killed in the alleged fake encounter in November 2005.
Sources have also said that more Gujarat police officers are likely to be arrested in the case.
Three Indian Police Service officers - two from Gujarat and one from Rajasthan - have already been arrested in the case.
The three officers are Anti-Terrorism Squad officers DG Vanzara and RK Pandayan from Gujarat and Superintendent of Police MN Dinesh of Rajasthan.
