HYDERABAD: TRS MPs K Chandrasekhar Rao and Vijayashanti left for Delhi on Sunday to attend the Parliament session from Monday. Before their departure, they declared that they would raise the Telangana issue and not allow the House to take up any other business if a clear-cut assurance on Telangana was not announced first. The TRS chief has declared recently that his party is committed to achieving Telangana state only through political process in which he will play a strategic role in Delhi. He will meet leaders of other parties which are supporting the Telangana cause. The TRS chief expects that Telangana Congress MPs, whose suspension for four days ended on Friday. will also attend the House on Monday and wants all Congress MPs from the region to stall the proceedings. The TRS thinks that if all Telangana Congress MPs stall the House, their party high command will take serious disciplinary action against all of them. It will then become inevitable for them to come out of the party. As they will not have any alternative, KCR will be able to lure them into the TRS and make them partners in the emerging political alternative to the Congress and the TDP in Telangana. The TRS leader has recently given a call to the Telangana Congress MPs to come out of their party and join the TRS. He has also begun consultations with some MPs who are in touch with him. He has even asked a select group of leaders to build pressure on the Telangana Congress MPs. Meanwhile, AICC secretary P Suddhakar Reddy has taken strong objection to TRS chief’s attempts to poach the Congress. Reddy accused Rao of indulging in politics which is devoid of values. He asserted that Congress MPs from the region remained committed to the Telangana demand and would achieve their goal by remaining as Congress MPs. However, the Congress MPs have not reacted to TRS chief’s invitation to them to join his party.Senior Telangana Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member P Govardhan Reddy has criticised Telangana Congress MPs’ behaviour in the Lok Sabha and said party president Sonia Gandhi was unhappy with their acts. If they continued to fight with the party high command, they would not be able to achieve Telangana state, he said and added that the main hurdle to Telangana was none other than Cong leaders themselves.
