Kerala man commits suicide after alleged harassment by police

A man from Kerala committed suicide after allegedly being harassed by police.

Claiming that he was assaulted, the relatives of the 36-year-old man took his body to the police station and held protests against the death. The relatives and the locals are demanding action against the policemen. They are also demanding a compensation for the family.

According to the police, they just did their duty. They claim that the patrolling had been increased in the area from which the man hails as there were several cases of notorious activities reported.
