HYDERABAD: If Jagan loyalist MLAs are returning to the Congress, it is mainly on account of the strategy adopted by chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy tightening screws at the district level so that no MLA backing the YSR Congress chief, will be able to get any work done in his segment.
According to the party leaders, the chief minister did not persuade the MLAs to come back to the Congress in which scenario he would have appeared to be seeking a favour from them. Instead he ensured that none of the pleas of Jagan loyalist MLAs is entertained either by the collectors or officials down the line which did the trick. The chief minister, by pressing the right button, had the desired effect on the MLAs who had crossed the line and migrated to Jagan camp. They themselves explained the cause for their homecoming.

Jagan's hardcore supporter C Adinarayana Reddy (Jammalamadugu) said: "We are not getting works done in our constituencies. No one in the collectorate is paying any attention. As a result, we are losing face in our constituencies."

As he had no intention of executing his threat made in the past pulling down the Congress government as he does not have the requisite numbers, he reluctantly allowed the MLAs to return to the Congress. So that their election on the YSR Congress ticket in the next elections would not be a problem if they worked for the development of their respective constituencies.

The return of Jagan MLAs had warmed the cockles of the ruling party's heart but what is leaving them a bit uneasy is the game the MLAs are playing now sailing with the ruling party now and ditching it when the call comes from Jagan.

Even if the the speaker does not accept their resignations, Satyanarayana does not want them to have such an easy let off. He wants them to come to the Gandhi Bhavan and repent before him for their 'sins' and promise him that they would actively take part in the party activities in districts.

What's your reaction?
