Koodankulam-plant awaits TNs decision

PUDUCHERRY: The first reactor of the Koodankulam nuclear power plant will  be made operational within 15 days of Tamil Nadu government conveying its decision (on the operation of plant) to the Centre, said Minister of State, Parliamentary Affairs, PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension. V Narayanasamy on Monday. Hoping that the decision would be taken at the cabinet meeting held on Monday, he said the plant would commence functioning  with the cooperation of the TN government.  “We (Centre and TN) are equal partners and share the same wavelength on Koodankulam,” said Narayanasamy in response to a question on whether the Centre had surrendered to TN on the issue. He added after opening the first reactor, the second one would be operational after two months.
