BANGALORE: KSRTC’s special arrangements to handle the Dasara rush in Bangalore have become popular with commuters. Vacationers in Bangalore are visiting Mysore in vast numbers and many of them are opting for KSRTC’s special services for transportation.“This is a much better solution than hiring a private vehicle. The experience was great and we really didn’t feel stranded for transport at any point of time in the past 3 days,” said Papiya, a college student who travelled by KSRTC bus with a group of 10 classmates.One hundred and seventy five buses depart from the Satellite Bus Station on Mysore Road everyday to Mysore. Other special buses proceed to destinations like Dharmastala, Shimoga, Mangalore, Davangere and Gokarna. Two hundred buses are operating around Mysore to Chamundi Hills, KRS Dam, Srirangapatna and Nanjanagud. Special tours have been organised by KSRTC which are theme based and take the tourists to nearby hills, waterfalls, religious places and other general tourist places around Mysore.
