PARIYARAM: A march to the Pariyaram Medical College (PMC) organised by the KSU in protest against what it called commercialisation of medical education and also demanding dissolution of the director-board of the PMC Society ended up in violence on Tuesday. The police used water cannons to disperse the belligerent groups of KSU activists who pelted stones at the police after the formal inauguration of the march by Shafi Parambil, state president of  KSU.A DeputySP, two other police officials and some KSU workers sustained injuries in the stone-throwing and the police action. The march began around 11.45 am at Embettu.A large contingent of police led by DeputySP Abdul Rasak was posted in the area to prevent the protesters from entering the college premises. A few moments after the inauguration of the march, stones were pelted at the police. When the police used water cannon to disperse the violent group, some of the KSU workers  targeted the cannon and the police.
