Left wants PM to resign for misleading people on nuclear deal.

New Delhi: Leaders of Left, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Telgu Desam Party (TDP) and other non-Congress and non-Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) parties will meet President Pratibha Patil on Tuesday to demand immediate convening of Parliament session.

The meeting comes in the wake of Left demand’s that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should quit for "deliberately misleading people and Parliament" on the Indo-US nuclear deal.

They had also demanded the immediate convening of the Parliament session to discuss several burning issues like the situation in Jammu and Kashmir and Orissa.

"The meeting of leaders of parliamentary parties with the President is scheduled at 1240 hrs IST on Tuesday. We will demand the immediate convening of the Parliament session as none of the nine assurances given by the PM on nuclear deal has been met," said a senior Left leader.

"We need an immediate session to debate the fate of these assurances," he added.
